Dear 3rdgrade parents,
On January 28, your child will start the first of three novels (Little House in the Big Woods, by Laura Ingalls Wilder).There are several options to obtain a copy of this novel. You can go to your public library at no cost. You can also buy them at a book store or online (note: if you’re buying online, allow enough time to have it delivered before January 28). Electronic readers are allowed however, they must be brought to school and taken home every day. The easiest way to obtain this novel AND the other two novels is through me. I will be placing an order for all three books this Friday, January 11, 2013. The order will include Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. The cost will be $17.00 for all three novels (Little House in the Big Woods $5.59; Pippi Longstocking 4.79; The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe- 5.59; and $1.03 for shipping). This is your best option. Remember, if your child does not have the appropriate novel at the appropriate time, there will be a 5 point deduction on their grade every day they are without it!
